Production and operating costs

  • Includes raw materials, labor, packaging, domestic shipping and quality inspection fees.

Export and logistics costs

  • Including international shipping costs (FOB, CIF), cargo insurance, export taxes, and customs fees.

Based on international customers' perceived value, not just cost. Usually applies to exclusive products, handicrafts, organic products or private brands.

Tiered pricing

Offer different prices depending on order quantity (MOQ).

For example:

100–500 pcs: $5/pcs

501–1000 pcs: $4.7/pcs

1000 pcs: $4.3/pcs

This model is very popular on Alibaba because it encourages large orders.

Penetration pricing strategy

Use when you just open an Alibaba store. Set prices lower than competitors to attract more RFQs and star reviews at first, then gradually increase prices when reputation is high.

Update prices based on fluctuations in international shipping costs, USD exchange rates, or new tax policies. You can use the Alibaba Analytics tool to monitor effectiveness and make timely adjustments.
