1. Mistake 1: Opening an Alibaba store but not optimizing your business profile

Identification signs

  • Company profile lacks information or is poorly written.

  • There is no clear logo, banner, or business description.

  • Do not update certifications, licenses or factory images.

  • When international buyers visit the store without seeing reliable information, they will leave immediately. On Alibaba's B2B e-commerce platform, trust is the decisive factor.

Consequence

  • The display rate is low because the store does not have a high TA Score.

  • Buyer did not submit a request for quotation (RFQ).

  • The booth was judged to be unprofessional or "untrustworthy".

How to fix it

  • Complete Company Profile 100%.

  • Add logo, factory photo, employee photo, company introduction video.

  • Post prestigious certifications: ISO, FDA, HACCP, CE, CO, CQ...

  • Write a professional, export-oriented Company Introduction section.

Tip:Stores with complete profiles often increase buyer contact rates by 40–60% in just 3 weeks.

2. Mistake 2: Posting products without information and not SEO optimized

Identification signs

  • The product title does not contain the main keyword.

  • Product description is short, not complete with technical details (size, material, MOQ...).

  • - Clearly state: technical specifications, packaging, delivery time, MOQ, payment method

  • Invest in images and videos: Clear images, bright background, standard size 750x750px.

  • Use internal SEO: Choose keywords with high search volume through the "Keyword Advertising (SBA)" tool.

3. Mistake 3: not proactively interacting with buyers

  • Do not respond to messages from buyer within 24 hours.

  • Do not check the “RFQ (Request for Quotation)” section regularly.

  • Do not send proactive offers (Product Quotation).

  • Do not track performance reports (Traffic Performance Report).

  • No new product updates for many months.

  • The booth was rated as "inactive".

  • The number of impressions gradually decreases, the product falls from the top of searches.

  • Buyer does not see the product, resulting in no new orders.

  • Invest in SBA advertising (Search by Advertising): Set a small budget of 5–10 USD/day to have the product displayed on the first page.

  • Monitor TA Score periodically: Update at least 10 products/month to increase store activity.

  • Optimize posting time: International buyers are most active: 3pm–9pm (Vietnam time).

5. Mistake 5: not building trust and brand on Alibaba

  • There is no Verified Supplier certificate.

  • Do not post customer feedback.

  • Do not share the brand story.

  • Buyer evaluates the business as "anonymous" and lacks credibility.

  • Lost opportunity to sign big contracts, especially with buyers from the US and Europe.

  • Create a “Company Overview” page with videos, feedback, and quality certificates.

  • Build an attractive Brand Story

  • Update feedback images from international customers (reviews, cooperation photos).
